Hi there, I'm ...
Hi, my name is Catherine Morissette and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) seeing clients virtually across Ontario, Canada. I was introduced to counselling at a young age after I started to struggle with anxiety. I learned the value of providing safe spaces for others to support them in their challenges from the bond I had with my own therapist. Fast-forward through my teenage and undergraduate years and returning to graduate studies, I decided to pursue therapy as a career because I saw the value of providing safe spaces for others.
I grew up in Hamilton, Ontario and I worked as a nutrition counsellor for several years after graduating from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Food Science. During this period, I discovered my true passion for guiding my patients to wellness, frequently discussing the mind-body connection. I opted to further my studies by enrolling in the Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University.
I am balancing my job as a psychotherapy associate with my other love…animals! I work in an animal hospital and assist clients and their furry family members during difficult moments of sadness and grief.
When I am not working, you can find me hiking with my pooch, Ahsoka, playing video games, reading a good book, or spending time with family and friends. And, as a new therapist, my free time is filled with self-care and self-compassion!
I see clients who are looking for support with grief, low-mood/depression, self-love and compassion, worries/anxiety, stress management, and relationships.
If you think you and I might be a good fit, please reach out to set up an appointment.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#13670), and a Non-Certified Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
